La Pigola, a Podere in Tuscany

A Family Story

The story of La Pigola began in 1952, long before Bolgheri became the internationally renowned destination it is today.

That year, Antonio De Luca, who had arrived from Mirabella Eclano, chose this land on which to build his future. He purchased his first plots from the Della Gherardesca family, laying the foundations of what would become our estate.

But alongside the estate, something even more meaningful took shape.

Our family's home.

Since then, the story of La Pigola and that of the De Luca family have followed the same path, passing through generations, seasons and harvests.

Growing Up Among the Olive Trees

Antonio devoted his life to the land.

Here, he built his home, planted the olive trees and raised his family. Life revolved around the rhythms of farming and the changing seasons: caring for the fields, waiting patiently, and gathering each harvest.

It was a way of life shaped above all by experience. Skills learned through observation, practised day after day, and passed naturally from one generation to the next.

After Antonio, Pasquale continued to care for both the estate and the land that had become an inseparable part of the family's identity.

Years later, the same story unfolded once again with the grandchildren: childhood games beneath the olive trees, days spent harvesting, and traditions absorbed almost without noticing.

At La Pigola, family and estate have never been separate worlds. The children grew up in the family home, surrounded by the countryside and the olive groves.

As they grew, so did the olive trees around them.

The Same Olive Trees,
the Same Passion.

Since 1998, Tiziana has led the estate, carrying forward the legacy of her grandfather and father while guiding La Pigola into a new chapter. By her side, Aldo has shared this journey of growth, contributing to the development of the estate while remaining true to its family heritage. Today, the youngest generation is also part of this story, bringing fresh ideas and new projects while carrying forward a tradition that continues to thrive.

Because before it became an estate, La Pigola has always been a home. A land, a heritage and a passion, passed down from one generation to the next.

Looking to the Future

Today, a new generation is shaping the future of La Pigola. Tiziana's children, Stefano and Serena, who grew up among the family's olive trees and embrace an increasingly international outlook, bring fresh ideas, new experiences and a natural passion for hospitality to the estate.

While the production of ourExtra Virgin Olive Oil remains at the heart of the family's heritage, the creation of Esordio, our artisanal olive leaf liqueur, has marked the beginning of a new chapter driven by research, creativity and innovation.

Today, the estate is evolving with a renewed vision: a place to experience and share, where authentic hospitality welcomes travellers from around the world. New spaces are being created to offer genuine experiences in the heart of Bolgheri and, in the future, to host private gatherings and exclusive events surrounded by the beauty of the estate.
